Please note that after the recent changes in the Special Tax Law, even though the payment of the spanish matriculation tax can be avoided in general when chartering a yacht in Spain, the tax is still applicable and an application for an exemption is necessary. Recent resolutions given by the Spanish Tax Directorate have opened new doors to charter.
